The 24th image for the 2023 Halloween Countdown
"Web" was the prompt for day 24 of the Halloween Countdown 2023 Project. I thought about black widows and other arachnids but remembered the spider creature from the Daz Store. I wanted to experiment with a witchy, older style of character along with the spider body. I do like how she turned out.
This scene was complex and hard to get just right. I remember adding and removing webs so you could see the character clearly through them.
I then added a few victims scattering about the scene. Afterward, I moved onto the right camera angle and into the Iray preview to tweak the lights and final setup.
I do remember having to alter this set a little due to the ceiling cutting off the scene. Sometimes you can do this, sometimes you can't. It depends on the asset, but I also believe there are ways to DIY with addon tools or even moving into another program like Blender and bringing the altered asset back into Daz.
I like how she is cleverly posed as if she is welcoming a guest. Once I was happy, it was off to the final Daz render.
With the last steps being a quick trip into Photoshop and Lightroom we end up with the final image ready for an Instagram post.
