The 20th image for the 2023 Halloween Countdown
"Telepathic" was a hard one for me. I thought about Carrie and Firestarter, but nothing resonated. Then I remembered this headdress/mask and thought about floating pumpkins and rocks as the image began to take shape.
This was another simple scene, but I had to place each element into place which is time-consuming. Anytime you start messing with the smallest of things, it becomes tedious and that one-hour goal slips away quickly.
I do remember with this one that once I had the camera in place, I needed to fill in the gaps with additional rocks and Pumpkins. I felt like an empty space that was too open drew the attention away from the other areas. It needed balance.
I added some fog elements and called it a day.
Then the final spice in Photoshop and Lightroom.
I'm not sure if it conveys Telepathic, but she is menacing... And yes I realize I was confused between Telepathic and Psychokinesis. I'm not certain what I would have done differently. Maybe a fun scene like from Ghostbusters when Venkman is electroshocking the student. 🙂
